Utah trip with like a hundred picture's

After our trip to Colorful Colorado we all went to stay at Nate's parents house. It was great to get to visit with them. This wonderful scene is what I woke up to every single morning. They slept in the room next to us and these two playing the nintendo together and laughing is one of the best things to hear first thing in the morning.I was at the gas station and found this gum. Black Jack gum in case you didn't know taste's just like black licorice. It is so yummy and reminds me of when I would beg my mom for pieces of her gum when she had it.This trip Nichole and Natalie learned to drive the 4 wheeler although they didn't get to take it to far they had so much fun on it.I got to snag this picture of the Mt. Timpanogos temple when I was taking family pictures near there. On Saturday Nate, his parents, and I went to the Salt Lake Temple to do a session and guess what.... It was closed. Can you believe our luck. But because it was we were able to walk around temple square and see the new movie that they are playing there. It is about Joseph Smith. If you get the chance to see it, do, because it is amazing.Ella always has a problem with her pants. The waists on them are always just too big for her. She is always holding them up when she runs. She was racing Nichole and almost tripped because her pants were down to her knees.Nate and I went to the Provo temple to do a session one morning. The answer is Yes we did make it to a session because it was not closed. We were blessed to be able to do 3 hours of temple work while we were there.Tyler and I had a mother sons outing while we were in Utah. We went and got snow cones. These snow cones are soooo good to because they have ice cream on the bottom of them. I want to send a special thanks to Mindi for introducing me to these yummy things. I am so lucky to have Nate's cousin Mindi turn into one of my favorite people to be around. Once again Mindi we didn't get our picture taken together. Mindi you are an amazingly strong person. I admire you for all of your courage.Natalie and Nichole went to spend the night at my parents house so Tyler and Ella got to hang out with Nate and I by themselves. I watched them play crochet.I often see Ella with her hands down her pants like this. It drives me crazy. When we were in Georgia she had her hands down her pants like this and pulled them out, smelled them and said "mmmmm juicy gum" so whenever I see her like this I think "mmmm juicy gum"I got to see my good friend Mindy Ellison while I was in Utah too. She has been in Korea, Florida, and Alabama for the last 18 months. On her way to her next base in Alaska she stopped in Utah for a wedding and I just happened to be there at the same time. It was so great to see her. I had so much fun. We just went to lunch and walked around the mall. She is so amazing and it makes me sad that I can't be around her all of the time. This is so our personalities together. We are soooo goofy.Ella was so exhausted this trip that she took a ton of naps in the car.We went up to Meagan and Rock's place in the Mountains. They have a really nice pool there so we all jumped into our suits and went swimming. My mom and dad even went off the diving board.Tyler and Ella would often sneak into my room at night and cuddle with me. And we would just goof off together for about 10 minutes and they would go to bed without fighting me about it.We also spent a lot of time at Grandma and Grandpa Swenson's house. Once a year I try to snag a picture of all of the kids with Grandpa and Grandma. And Nate took them all on 4 wheeler rides out in the fields. Pretzel our big dog would chase Nate on the 4 wheeler a couple of times around the field before she would get pooped. Otis our small dog make it about a fourth of the way around the field and gave up, layed down, and Nate had to take him back to the house on the 4 wheeler.Ella on the 42 year old Tricycle. The kids loved spending time at the Spanish Fork Reservoir. It is a very nice place for the kids to swim. The kids loved it.My dad got bit 5 times by some mystery insect one day and look how horrible it ended up looking. Red and Black. OuchI also got to see my friend Carolyn. I haven't seen her for almost a year. She is one of my very best friends. She is an amazing person. Ella once again crashing. Poor thing.

Finally on our way home. This is how Ella would entertain herself in the car. Funny girl.

Kids time in Utah

The kids had a great time with Grandpa and Grandma Banks in Utah. Some of the things they did were went to Jumping Jacks, went on a treasure hunt, played baseball in the sprinkler, went to work with Grandma, and to work with Grandpa. They also played in the mud, went to the shooting gallery, went to a petting zoo (where a cow ate every ones shirt), going hiking with Grandpa, and went on picnic's.

All of the kids wanted to say something about their trip and something to Grandma and Grandpa.

Tyler's favorite part was hiking with Grandpa. "Thanks for letting us stay over Grandma and Grandpa"

Natalie loved playing baseball in the sprinkler "You guys rock!"

Nichole had so much fun going to jumping jacks "You guys are very good grandparents"

Ella really liked going to Jumping Jacks " I love you and miss you. Thank you for all of the stuff"

Colorful Colorado

On the 5th of July Rock, Meagan, Nate and I went to Colorado to visit my brother and our friends the Schroeders. It was hard to leave Utah after only seeing the kids for one day especially when Nichole cried. She was not liking us leaving her so much and missed us so much the first time. The ride to Denver normally takes 8 hours but because of the weekend that we went and the fact that everyone decided to come home that day it took us almost 11 hours. A lot of it was going anywhere between the high speed of 7 and the dangerous speed of 25 on the freeway through the canyon's. At which point Meagan and I got so giggly that the boys were wondering what we were on. After we arrived we went to dinner and then headed over to the Schroeders. We only visited with Trish for a few minutes before we were just all pooped out and had to go to bed. Some mountain views of the very colorful Colorado. The next morning Rock, Meagan, Pete, Nate and I went to Elich Garden's. We had a great time hanging out with each other. I have decided that I am not a young kid anymore and my body just doesn't respond to roller coasters as it used to. I went on about 4 in a row and felt as if I was all done on roller coasters for a long time.Pete on the mind eraser. Nate and I sat down to go on it and it wasn't working properly so they kicked everyone off the ride. Later after lunch everyone but me decided to go on it again. I am so glad that I didn't Rock, Meagan, and Nate all got really sick afterwards. Although I don't think that it was directly related to this particular ride. This ride drops you down about 149 feet. It was a lot of fun. I dare say it was my favorite ride I went on that day. After the amusement park we all went back to Pete's house and played Guitar Hero and he had a BBQ for us.The next morning Trish, John, Nate and I got on our Sunday best to go to the temple. We drove out there only to find that it was closed for cleaning. We were totally bummed. Nate and I went left the temple and went to hang out with the rest of the family and had sushi (which I had had before and wasn't fond of but had this time and really liked) and hung out at Pete's house for a while. We headed back to the Schroeders around 5 o'clock and went out to eat with their family. We watched movies and just hung out for the rest of the night. The next morning we left Colorful Colorado. As I went to leave the Schroder's the youngest little boy said to me "Good bye Hon. Apparently he heard Nate call me that and thought that it was my name. I had an awesome time hanging out with Trish and her family. Thank you Schroeders. My cute little nephew Joe. Too bad Rocky had to give him the wedgie of his life.Me and my handsome brother's. The one in the grey shirt is Pete and Rock is in the blue. Thank you Pete for letting us invade your space for a couple of days. I had a ton of fun. The only problem is that it made me miss you more. I love you brother.Kendel and I just became the best of friends. She is such a sweetie. Kendel doing Meagan's hairThis handsome feller is my nephew. He is such a goof ball always making me laugh.

Happy 4th of July

Nate and I left for Utah much later then we thought that we were going to. We arrived around 5 o'clock. I was so excited to see the kids that for the last hour of the trip I just couldn't stop thinking of them. We went over to see Nate's parents for a little bit then we went back to my parent's house for fireworks. The kids really enjoyed themand they scared my dad a little bit.One of them was so bright that it hurt your eyes to even look at.So everyone closed their eyes while those ones were going off.

We all had a great time watching the fireworks.

What do you do while all your kids are gone?

Well, I will tell you what we did while we were childless for a week. First, we went to church and sat all through sacrament meeting without having to tell a single kid to be quite and actually we were able to hear the whole meeting. That was nice. For the rest of the week it just went as things usually go. Nate worked, I did laundry, we went out to dinner, twice, we went to see two movies on the same day (Angels and Demons, and Up). I hung out with my friends while Nate was at work. And I had YW's twice that week. It was a little weird not having the kids around but it was nice and relaxing too.
The worst part of the week was the Friday before we were leaving from Utah. Otis was chained up for the first time ever while Nate and I went to Boise. Nate went out to bring him in the house at 11 o'clock that night and he was missing chain and all. Now I know that this is a very normal occurrence for us. Otis ends up running away like once a week and it drives me crazy every time. And I swear that that is going to be the last time I go and look for him, which of course it isn't. Anyway Nate and I go out looking for him not knowing what we were going to do if we couldn't find him before we were supposed to leave for Utah the next day. We search for 2 hours before we decided that he must be at the pound or would be back in the morning. Nate called the pound and we were told that they had gone out on 8 calls that night but they wouldn't tell us where or if any of the dogs were actually picked up that night. We went to bed not knowing when we were going to be able to go to Utah in the morning.
The next day we both got up early to go a searchin for the dog. We wandered around the neighborhood for about 2 hours with no luck at all when finally I notice the chain marks on the ground and we start following the chain marks throughout the block. I followed it across the street and found the end of the chain mark and didn't know where it went from there. I went to get Nate so that he could help me look. By the time that I made it back there was this lady going to the trash and we asked her if she had seen our dog. She said she knew exactly where it was. And then went on to tell us this story...
Her daughter was at the store on the corner (and about 5 houses down from us) and there was a little puppy over there (we did not see any chain marks that lead in that direction at all). The daughter went in and asked the owners if they knew who the puppy belonged to. They said no that it has been without an owner for 3 days (we chained him up at 6:30 that night and hello who would just let some puppy hang out at their store for 3 days). The girl decided to take the puppy home to her house. They lady told us that he had his collar on but no chain and that he had been fed and well taken care of. She then went in and brought us out our dog and proceeded to ask if he was a pure breed and that she knew he had to be.
I am grateful that the lady decided to give us back our dog. But it all seemed a little fishy to me.

My favorite sister with all of my favorite kids

While my sister was here visiting me, I took her and all of the kids out to get pictures done together. I had a lot of fun taking their picture's and later trying out my new photoshop actions. I hope you like your picture's sis.
This one kinda looks like an album cover or something to me.My rock star NatalieThis handsome feller wasn't thrilled to get his picture taken (BTW he never is)Nichole always rolls her eyes at me but it still took 4 tries to get this picture right.

I just love this because this is Ella's personality in a nutshell right here.
