One of my favorite things to do as a parent is spend one on one time with my kids. It gives me the opportunity to talk to them and bond with them. I get to listen to what they want to talk about and I love hearing what they have to say.
For Tyler and my date he choose to go and get ice cream. There is a gas station just down the road that sells really good scoops of ice cream. All we did was sit outside and talk while he ate his treat. I can't remember what exactly we talked about but whatever it was, was what he had to say. Tyler is such a great kid. He is such a gentleman. For example while he was having lunch at my mom's work with my dad he ran into a lady with her arms full of boxes. She was getting ready to leave the hospital. He hurried in front of her to open the door so she wouldn't have to struggle to do it. Then asked if he could help her carry the boxes to her car. He did that all without any prompting by anyone around him. The lady graciously went through the door but declined the help to her car. The lady then went on and on about what a polite boy he was and how it was rare to find that in a young man now a days. She also went out of her way to find my my mom in her office to once again say how nice and what a wonderful young man he is. Tyler does that kind of stuff all of the time. Nate and I have tried to teach Ty what is the polite thing to do, It is always nice to hear about him doing that kind of stuff on his own. He is also very intuitive to others needs and very caring. He is going to be an amazing husband some day! I am so lucky to have this young man in my family!
I didn't get around to taking Ella until the very last second of course. I was able to convince her to go and get snowcones which is one of my favorite summer treats! This particular snowcone has ice cream on the bottom which is the yummiest thing ever. What a great way to cool off. Ella went with my mom as well. Ella is such a wonderful little girl. She is still so cuddly and sweet. I hope that never goes away. She is friendly to everyone and is super sensitive to other peoples feelings and needs. I love that she can still play with any kid and make them feel like they are the best thing in the whole world. I am so glad she is part of my family. By the way this is a small snowcone! It's huge!
