Student of the Month

Wow I am so behind on my posts!  I got a call from Ella's teacher on a Saturday around noon and the conversation went something like this:
Mr: I just got up and remembered that I didn't call you to let you know that Ella will be getting an award this Monday.  I just thought you should know so that you be there.
Me: (skipping to the most important part of the conversation) Wait, wait, wait.  Start over. You just got up?
Mr: Well I didn't just get up. I've been up for a little while. It is the weekend after all.
Me: Sorry I got sidetracked sometimes. Tell me a little about this award.
I am so excited for Little Miss. She has been trying all year to get the student of the month award.  She is always friendly to the kids in her class and tries really hard to please everyone.  But she does talk a lot too (I wonder where she gets that from.  Not me that's for sure). She was so proud of herself for getting this award and reaching her goal!  Good Job Scoobs!

Easter

Easter is a different kind of Holiday for us now that the kids are older.  This year the Easter Bunny still came and he still hid eggs and by he I mean Ella and I stuffed them and Ella and Tyler hid them.  Most of the kids still had fun with that.
We had The missionaries plus two families from the ward over.  The Vincent's and The Sena's.  I quite enjoy making things into an extravaganza and since I have decided to try to make the holidays something fun to remember for all of my kids I tried with this holiday as well.
I decorated the table all cute and made each person a pinata egg to take home and enjoy.  I also made a carrot goodie bag.
As with most "big" holidays we had a nice sit down meal which means that everyone at home got to help cook.  I really enjoy this part of the holiday.  I like being in the kitchen with my family cooking.  I also like that not ALL of the responsibility is on me.  A bonus to everyone cooking is that everyone will enjoy at least one thing on the menu since they made it themselves.
I had a great time with all of the company over.  I wish I would of taken a picture of everyone but for some odd reason I neglected to do that.  After dinner we just sat around the table and chatted it up for a little bit.  I really enjoy holidays more and more and in a much different way then when my kids were younger.
