The actual trip out of Alaska was kind of stressful. The kids and I went to the airport about 90 minutes before our flight left. We showed up and the line to check in was the longest line I have ever had to stand in line for at the airport check in. The people were pretty good at getting us through the line pretty quickly but, it stressed Tyler out really bad. I made a note to not be so late getting to the airport when flying with Tyler again. When we checked into the flight we found out that there was a chance that our flight maybe cancelled due to the fact that they were short one flight attendant and since we were in such a remote area they may not be able to get us one, They would not be able to let us know for certain quite yet, They sent us on our way to the gate. I didn't want to tell Nate because flights out of Alaska leave in the middle of the night. Nate already had to drop us off really late and I wanted him to be able to go to sleep for work and not have him worry just in case we got on the flight. About 15 minutes after we got to the gate we heard that they were rescheduling our flight. They found a flight attendant to come in on another flight into Anchorage to help out with the flight attendant situation. Unfortunately for Nate that meant that he had to come back to get us, We didn't even get back home until 2 am. The airline just rescheduled the whole flight to take off at 2 pm the following afternoon. I woke up early the next morning with a disturbing thought. If we are flying out of Anchorage at 2 pm that afternoon and getting into California at 9 was I actually going to be able to get a flight from California to SLC that night or was I going to have to spend a very uncomfortable night at the airport. I decided I had better call the airline and see what I could find out. Good thing I called. They did not have any flights to Utah after I arrived in to CA but I could catch one at 8 am the next morning. I then went on to try my other options. They were able to book me onto a flight the next day. I was able to get the same seats (I paid for extended leg room for the flight from Anchorage to California) but from California to SLC Tyler, Ella, and I would be sitting all over the plane. They couldn't get us together because we didn't pay for the extra leg room. But if I wanted to pay the extra $20 a person I could get upgraded to the extended leg room and we could sit together. Wow that was so nice of them. They rescheduled my flight and I could pay to sit with my kids even though on my other flight I already was. Seems fair. No matter what I said to her the lady couldn't upgrade my ticket. Nate told me to hand him the phone and he then talked to the lady... Long story short the lady couldn't upgrade my ticket not wouldn't so he just said ok then let me talk to someone could do that for us. Boom bada bing upgraded tickets for us and I got to sit by my kids to SLC and it wasn't an extra 20 dollars a ticket. The flight was so nice and jet blue to me is definitely the way to fly. They give you all the food and drinks that you want for no extra money plus you get a free checked bag which is pretty much unheard of. They also bring you a warm wash cloth to freshen up before you get off the plane. The only down side to my travel was that I wasn't feeling well the first time we tried to leave Alaska and by the time we ended up leaving I really wasn't feeling well. I had lost my voice and couldn't talk to the flight attendant when asked questions. The other positive part was that because I wasn't able to come in to SLC until Friday my mom was now able to come to the airport with my dad to pick us up! The kids didn't have any trouble sleeping on the plane,
Joys friends painted all the girls toenails in preparation of Joys wedding.
I got Tyler a new suit for Joy's wedding and oh boy did he look sharp!
This plastic glove fell out of the garbage this way. Apparently it was telling us off for throwing it away.
Joy crammed into the car freshening her breath on the way to her wedding!
Joy and I on her wedding day!
Most of the grandkids playing together after Joy's wedding. Even Olivia got to join in.
My parents babysit Olivia once a week. Tyler was trying to teach her how to rock herself in the rocking chair.
These two spent a lot of time together in the back of my dad's truck. Its so cute to me because Rock and I used to play in the back of my dads truck all of the time when I was growing up.
Ella and I the day that they went up to Sundance to play.
Don't mind my ugly toenail. I did repaint them I was just happy to get the blue off of them. I ended up really hurting my toes. I was trying to get past this door but it had a baby gate jammed into it just right so it ended up flying back at my foot.
My cute little niece and I after a sunday meal at my parents house.
Nate picked out a boat for his fathers day present. Because I wasn't there he sent me a picture of it.
My daddy and I on Father's Day! I am so blessed to have this really special man in my life. He is always there for me. I sure miss him and wished I lived closer.
Tyler and I helping make a photography backdrop for my sisters bridal shower.
Deer are frequently making an appearance at my parents house. I caught about 10 of them in a herd this last winter.
These two dears also made an appearance at my parents house. They are the best missionaries. I am glad that they live close enough that I can see them when I come to Utah.
