My parents had an awesome garden this year. Shortly after we got there the first set of peas were ready to be harvested. Tyler and my dad pulled out all of the pea plants, put them in a wheel barrow, and brought it to the front yard where all of us took all of the peas off the plant. It only took us about 20 minutes but the end result was just tasty. Fresh peas are so good and I couldn't help but sneak a few while we were picking them. A couple days after the original picking party my mom, dad, and I ended up shucking the peas. As an added bonus my mom made cream of peas and potatoes! Yummy! I can't wait until one day when I have a garden and it can produce food for my family (and freezer). Maybe when we move to California.
I love Otis' photobomb here.
Look at this Nasty spider we found. I'm glad that it was on the wheel barrow instead of on a pea plant that I happened to grab.
The next weekend my dad, Tyler, and Ryan planted more peas and some onions in the garden to replenish their previous pick. Tyler did a lot of outside yard work which was great because he hasn't had much of an opportunity to do any of that stuff since we moved to Alaska.
