None of these pictures required a post of there own but I still wanted to post them.
While the girls were gone on the trek I found somethings to do with the kids. One of the things that we did was paint bird houses. The kids had a great time mixing colors and painting. Ella repainted her bird house several times.
We also spent one afternoon at Marissa's house playing with Ruby.
One day Marissa and I went to the thrift store to see if we could find any cute clothes to repurpose. On the way back to her car I pointed out this poor dead bird.
One thing that we have been having a lot of this summer is rain storms. Some weeks it rains everyday. Some weeks we get a couple good days. I try to encourage my kids to play in the rain. Especially this storm. The sun was out and there were no clouds at all but it just started pouring outside. I could only talk Natalie and Ella into playing in the rain.
I looked over one day and this is what I saw. Nichole made herself a hat out of newspaper. I think that she wore this bad boy all day long. Too bad we didn't go anywhere that day because I think she would of wore it then too.
You only have to be 14 to get your learners permit here in Alaska. Natalie passed her test on the first try. After the test Nate took her driving. Nichole passed hers on the second try. I think that she would of passed the first time but she didn't read the book. After she didn't pass the first time she came home and read the manual.
We had a family home evening lesson on The First Vision. Afterwards we walked down to the duck pond and fed the ducks. The Coombs family came to FHE with us.
Can you believe that it is 11:08 P.M. and it is still light outside?
We have had some construction going on in our house lately. The load bearing board on the third floor of our house was completely rotted through due to a leaky roof. They worked on the house on the inside for 2 weeks and on the outside for a month. It is such a relief to have the bottom floor the house accessible again.
