Apparently in the Musil house hold we celebrate Independence Day all weekend long. First on Saturday we went to celebrate at Otter Lake. Then on Sunday we hung out on the lawn of the church which was across the street from the place where Eagle River does the town firework show. We arrived at the church lawn around 10 p.m. and we just let the kids run around, play and hang out with their friends. The firework show started at dusk (12:30 a.m. and yes I said dusk at 12:30 a.m. for the sun never goes all the way down for now). The fireworks did not last any longer then 20 minutes and we were done. That is exactly how I like them too. Short and sweet.
*Just have to add this. After firework Nate and I ran to walmart to get some potato's. When we got home from the store I found this pile of flour with a small hand print in it. I asked Ella why she made such a mess to which she claimed it wasn't her. Really? I have a hard time believing that any other person in the house has a hand print that is that small.
Today (Monday the actual 4th of July) the family and I went to a family friends house for a BBQ. They smoked a brisket and some hamburgers and they were delicious. We hung out there for a while ad had a really fun time with everyone. After we came home I searched the tv in hopes of finding The Independence Day movie on tv. It could not be found on tv so we settled for watching Sherlock Holmes. Oh how I love spending good ol' fashion family time. It is my own little piece of Heaven here on earth.
Happy Independence Day! I am so grateful to be able to live in a free country and am grateful for the men and women in the military who keep it free for us all.
