Now that it's all over, what did you really do yesterday that's worth mentioning? ~Coleman Cox

Summer time here is really weird.  I knew that there would be lots of light all of the time.  For some reason it has been harder to adjust to that then the darkness at winter time.  It is hard to settle down for the evening when it is 11 o'clock at night and it looks like it is only 8 pm outside.  Ella and I have a harder time with it then any of the others.  Ella will be up until 11 or 12 because she just can't sleep.  I have a hard time knowing that it is so light outside and that I am supposed to sleep through all of that lightness.  Then we both end up sleeping in way too long and the whole process starts all over again. Ugh. Now that I have gotten that off my chest let me tell you what has been going on.  I made the kids sit still for one picture the other day.  It was so funny because they all got mad at me for making them do it.  Look at the fakeness in Nichole's face.  It makes me laugh every time I look at this picture.
I have tried for years to keep a white board on my fridge so that I can write down what is needed at the grocery store and for years I have failed.  But, I decided to try again.  I told the kids if they needed anything they needed to write it down on the white board.  Ella wrote "Ella need's froot by the foot". To cute.  I still haven't gotten it for her.  Another white board failure.
Pretzel does not make a very good spy.  She frequently lays her head on the couch like this and it cracks me up.  It doesn't look very comfortable to me.
My big girls are getting so big.  They have wanted a pair of heels for some time now and I have fought it for a while.  But, this year I caved.  The girls went along with the whole "Go big or go home" thing and bought themselves some 3 inch heels.  They wore them for the first time to church today.  About 2 minutes in Natalie told me that she missed being fun sized (that is what the boys at school call her) but both of them made it through all of church without their feet hurting too much.
Nichole's cute brown heels
and Natalie's stylish black ones (I wanted a pair of these ones for myself but since I can't wear heels I figured I wouldn't waste the money on them).
Tyler wanted to see if he could do his sister's hair.  He did an ok job.  But in the end Ella complained about getting her hair pulled too much.

I babysat the next door neighbor twins and Nichole and Ella helped me.  I passed down some fun outdoor toys to them but not before both Ella and Nichole had one more ride in the car.

I am so sad to say that my really good friend Mindy has abandoned me and moved herself away to Virginia.  I am happy for the new adventure that they are embarking on but I am really bummed that we won't be hanging out together here in Alaska anymore.  She made my move much easier being with her already being here.  The thing that I think is so good is that Utah is a home base for both of us and I have high hopes that we will be able to see each other there every once and a while.
One of our favorite missionaries Elder Stephens(the one on the left)  is going home from his mission on the 12th of July.  These two missionaries have came to eat at our house at least once a month for the past several months.  We are going to miss having Elder Stephens around.
