Alaska Fair

For some crazy reason I allowed myself to be talked into going to the fair this year.  My friends Marissa (pictured below) and Julianne plus 3 little kids all went to the fair.  We looked at some of the prize winning animals, let the little ones go on rides, and best of all ate fair food.  We didn't see the prize winning fruits and veggies. I am not so sure why we didn't.  When ever these two talk me into doing something that I really don't want to do I always have a great time and walk away so happy that I did it.

The amazing food that we tried.  This was by far my favorite and worth every penny of the 14 dollars that it cost to buy.  It was a crab pita.  It was a layer of lettuce and then some crab.  Next there is a ranchy dressing that was put on top. Lastly it was topped off with tomato and sunflower seeds.  My mouth still waters thinking of its goodness.
I purchased this as we were headed out the gates.  It is a huge cream puff filled with the yummy cream puffiness topped with Carmel, pecans and a touch of whipped cream.  Tasty!
I also got a deep fried cheesecake.  Which was my least favorite of the things I tried that day.  They took a piece of cheesecake and wrapped it in a tortilla.  The deep fried it.  Next they rolled it in cinnamon and sugar.  It was tasty but, I think it would of been better if it was a piece of cheesecake and dipped it in batter and then deep fried it.
Marissa got this heart attack potato.  It was a huge baked potato topped with a heart clogging amount of butter, sour cream, cheese and bacon.  It was pretty yummy too.
All in all it was a great day.  I shared some laughs (mostly at what people were wearing) and was around some great company.  I am glad these two talked me into it.
