This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave. ~Elmer Davis

I can not put into words what it means to have your husband come home safe from a 6 month TDY to a war zone. Many of my prayers were answered on Sunday when Nate come home from Iraq. I think that being in the military is the hardest job (I am of course biased). To leave your family for at least 4 months until whenever your assignment is done. To sacrifice your time for the nation is a very honorable thing and I am so proud of Nate for being able to do it. I would not have to strength to do it myself. The kids making a welcome home sign for Nate! Tyler and Ella diligently waited by the windows watching for Nate to come! They were the first to see him. Then they followed him from the windows to the door that he walked through to give him a big hug! I stood back and watched Nate take each one of the kids in his arms and hug them and love on them. I wanted to give them their time with their daddy. When it was my turn to love on him I was so overcome with emotion I cried right there in the airport. I am so excited to have my husband home! He's Home!

Nate and the kids standing by the sign that they made for him!

Originally Nate was supposed to be home on Friday but, he got booted from his flight. Then he was supposed to be home on Saturday but, the plane broke down. I cried when I found out both times that he was going to be coming home later. I realize that it was only a couple of days but when you have your heart set on one day it is so hard to have to wait and then have it happen a second time. I told him that if he didn't make it on a flight the next day I was going to fly to Qatar and bring him home myself.
