My stake held a tuff sister challenge and invited any sister that wanted to participate in it to sign up and do it. I of course wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. Even being heavy and having a bum ankle couldn't stop me. We signed up with partners and away we went. My partner was Emily Vincent. She is to the right of me in the picture.
Other woman that participated or helped out from my ward. From left to right: Back row Sheryl Fibbs and Richelle Lay. Front Row: Jeanette Lucas, Cathie Coombs, Robyn Newell, Brooke Cook, Erin Nisonger, Me, Emily Vincent, and Dene' QuimbyLets start by saying that this happened at the end of April. That time last year there was no more snow on the ground and it was warmer outside. This year there was feet of snow and it was like 5 degrees outside. Or maybe 15 I can't remember but it was very cold and no warmer then that. Emily and I were the second group to go. The first activity that was to be completed was the tire run. Lets just say because of my large feet and my total clumsiness I decided to go slow. People were cheering me on chanting lift your knees up. I stupidly did what I was told (last time for that to happen) and fell. It is really embarrassing falling in front of that many people. But of course they were nice and cheered when I got up. But I sure did feel stupid for about 10 minutes afterward. Or until Erin Nisonger fell who was right after me.
Next we had to get into a tarp that was filled with what they called dirt but I call cow poo at least that is what it smelled like. There were 2 sides of plastic Easter eggs and I had to find a match by digging around in poop. Then crawl under the rope. I passed on that.
Then we had to army crawl under some yarn for about 15 feet. It progressively got lower and lower to the ground. None of those pictures were posted because my bum was hanging out. Your welcome world.
After that was completed someone had the brilliant idea to set up this tarp on a hill that was covered in dish soap and baby oil. We had to climb that thing. That was very difficult. It took me forever to get up it. I would make it almost to the top then slide down.
After the slip and slide from hell we went over to a middle school and shot some hoops. We each had to make 3 baskets before moving on.
Where we had to army crawl out to these sled and pull our partner out to a line, switch it up and then be pulled back to the beginning line.
We then had to throw a football through a tire. I thought that both of us had to do that. So Emily was throwing away. Then we learned that only one of us had to complete that challenge so I gave it a try. I made it threw the very first time!
We then had to walk on a zigzagging balance beam and head back to the church.
Emily opted for the short cut back and went down the slip and slide.
Back at the church we had to link arms and carry an egg on a spoon from one point to another. Man I looked mad in this photo. No eggs were harmed in the making of this relay. We I didn't harm any anyway.
The last thing that we had to do was fill up a sponge with water (warm luckily my hands were freezing off at this point) and move it from one bucket to the next.
When we completed the competition we were rewarded with shirts and food!
And bragging rights.
I was also rewarded with 2 very bruised knees that hurt whenever I crawled around. Luckily I don't have to do that much crawling.
