This last weekend we went to the Ward campout. I invited my little brother to come with us. It we had so much fun. We got there around 6:30 on Thursday night and immediately set up camp. there were already 2 families there waiting for us to arrive. We had a wonderful potluck dinner and just hung around the campfire while the kids played near the river and around the campground. Friday morning we all woke up refreshed (ha I thought that it was funny too how refreshed can you really be camping) let me reword that we woke up and had a wonderful breakfast. Nate made us a strawberry strudel. And then we drove us to Trinity Lake. On our way up the dirt road we blew a tire on the van. Actually a quarter size hole was in our tire so we had to buy a new one. We had to divide our kids up into other peoples cars and Nate and I went into town to see if there was anywhere to buy a new tire which was a joke because the town is so small there is almost nothing there. We did find a place that could repair a tire so we had our friends who were coming up later that night bring us a tire and someone in own mounted it for us. Nate and I went back to camp and just hung out the two of us until some other people from the ward arrived. When all of the people got back the menfolk decided to build a dam in the river to kinda try to slow it down the tide was pretty strong. The guys played in the water with the kids and splashed in the water like kids. And all of the women sat on the shore and watched the little ones that couldn't go into the water. Later when more families arrived (there were a total of 10 families) we had a great BBQ and a neat fireside. My friend Nicole showed up and we played cards that is always fun. The next morning we packed up camp and hung out until around 1 and took off. I was awfully excited to get home and get a bath. I do love not smelling like campfire. Nicole stayed another night and told me that when they were playing in the dam Saturday there was a water snake in there. And her husband saw a black bear on the other side of the river when they woke up in the morning. We all had a great time I was especially happy that My little brother could make it and I got to meet his girlfriend. Also that the Spencer family could come.

Tyler was so exhausted on the way home from Trinity Lake that he fell asleep like this. You cant tell really well but if you look under the seat belt you might see that there is no arm in that sleeve he had them tucked into his shirt because he was cold. Poor thing.

It looks like you guys had fun. We wish we could have been there with you but I think we were better off staying home. Hopefully we'll be able to go next time!
