Nate and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary in March. Instead of buying each other gifts we decided to spend the night at a hotel in Anchorage. It was the first time that we have left the girls in charge overnight. We had a great night too.
We left around 4:30 and went to the movies first. We went and say Jack the Giant slayer. It was a good movie. Since our dinner reservations weren't until 8:45 and Nate had to pick up something at work we ran out there really fast and then went to check in at the hotel. I reserved a Jr. Suite earlier in the week for our night. I wanted something a little nicer. Fortunately for us when we went to check in they didn't have our room clean and they weren't planning on cleaning it for the rest of the night. They ungraded us to the executive suite. Which happened to be $395.00 a night! It was like a one bedroom apt. It was HUGE! It had 2 bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a whirlpool hot tub with a separate shower. It was a very nice upgrade!
The Bedroom was about the size of a typical hotel room.
And the view was spectacular!
We had dinner at a restaurant named Sullivans. They specialize in steak. It was very good food. You had to buy your steak and sides separately. I wasn't feeling all the hot that night but I did try to eat. I had a fillet mignon with a side of rub all over your face good Mac and Cheese. I also got THE best coconut cream pie for dessert.
After dinner we went back to the Hotel and just settled in for the night. We laid out on the couch and just talked with each other(which is my favorite thing to do anyway). With Nate being so busy with working full time and going to school full time it was nice to have this little break to celebrate our relationship and get to know each other again!
I am one lucky lady to be married to the most handsome, funny, and reliable man in the world! here's to eternity!
