More Random things going on....

Nichole got to pick the activity on the 22nd. She picked making hot chocolate. They stirred it in with a candy cane and had some popcorn to go with it. On the 23rd for our activity we were supposed to unpack. We got up at eight and moved the loaner furniture around so we would be all ready for the movers. Nate called and confirmed the appointment with the lady that scheduled it on base. She told us that the movers were going to be here between nine and eleven that morning. Nate kept saying that he bet that they wouldn't show up. I was being more optimistic. Stupid me. After eleven and they still hadn't showed Nate called the lady again and she called the movers. They weren't coming today. When we called a few weeks before to set up our appointment time she forgot to call the movers back and give them our address so we never got scheduled in. The soonest they could come was the 27th. I took the new pretty hard. Actually I was pretty pissed. Some of our Christmas stuff was being shipped and wouldn't be here for Christmas now. I got over it. Eventually. So now that is our activity for Monday.

I wanted to show how dark and pretty it is here at certain times of the day. Unfortunately I can't show you just how dark it is very well with my camera. The first picture is taken at 3:00 p.m.. The sun is just starting to go down. It looks so pretty. Too bad you can never see just how pretty it really is with this camera. The sun was down at 4:15 that day. This picture was taken at 9:30 in the morning. It is still pretty dark outside. But the sun is finally starting to come up.After months and months of wiggling Ella finally lost her second tooth. Just like her first one the tooth behind it was grown in quite a bit. She worked and worked in getting it out. The only reason it finally fell out is because she was playing with Tyler and fell on her face and it knocked her tooth pretty good. She was finally able to get it out after that.On the 21st of December (which is also the winter solstice) there was a lunar eclipse. We didn't have to stay up too late to look at it. It was cool to see the moon all red. I tried to capture it with my point and shoot. It just didn't work very well.My Christmas present this year was supposed to be photography lights. We ordered some online from Amazon. But when they hadn't arrived and it was only a few days until Christmas Nate decided it was time to contact them. They weren't coming. The company that Amazon was going through to ship them doesn't ship to Alaska. But they neglected to inform us of our now cancelled order. I was bummed. The next day we went to Fred Meyer to look for presents for me for Christmas. While we were there we saw this couch that was on clearance. It was a $700.00 couch and we got it for 250.00. Our friend Andrew was kind enough to help us pick up the couch and push it through the front door. It barely fit. I think it is a pretty nice couch. It is brown and leather. I put a picture up buy somehow blogger deleted it and so it is the top picture on the page.
