On Wednesday Nate and I were talking about when we were finally going to get out of Mountain Home via instant messenger. Then it was time for Nate to go to bed and he logged off. Not 5 minutes later he logged back in which I thought was very odd. And I got a message that went something like this.
N: How long are your friends going to be in Alaska?
M: I am not sure a while still why?
N: Because you are going to be moving up there with them.
I was in shock and a little amazed. And I am still in shock and I am still a little amazed. Nate and I decided that we were going to tell the kids together on SKYPE the next day. Oh boy was that hard to keep from them. They reacted exactly as I had planned. Natalie cried. Nichole was ambivalent. Tyler cried. Ella yelled, screamed and cried. But they have all gotten used to the idea a little more. Natalie and Ella still don't like it. We have decided that we are going to make this into the funnest family adventure ever!
Now that I have had some time to process things I am very excited and very overwhelmed. We are still up in the air about what to do with the house. But I know that with the Lord's help everything will turn out exactly how it should.

I will try and send some fun pictures your way for the kids. I wished you guys were moving in the summer. The kids would be amazed. It is a different world here, and there is so much to do. It's beautiful!!! Can't wait to see you all.

I couldn't be happier for you! How fun! Of course I'm biased and maybe a bit jealous at least in a good friendly sort of way! We were supposed to be there but you know the story. I have tons of family up there... will you be living on base or off base? When do you report??? So excited for you all! :-)
